They still are. Manga is huge. Manhua is becoming huge. Bande Dessine is still huge. Mainstream graphic novels of the type considered 'alternative' in the tradtional 'mainstream' American market are huge on 'real' book outlets like Amazon and physical stores. It's only the UK comics industry and the fore-mentioned 'mainstream' American industry (ie Marvel / DC and all those companies that rely on the ghetto of Diamond distribution and comics shops) that turned to crud. They were run into the ground by incredibly imbecilic and incompetent people.

dont know what you paid but it seems a little pricey to me. Like they don't get the economics of scale and selling loads is better than selling a few for a lot.
